ABOUT Ginger Jaggery Tea RECIPE

It a quick, healthy and aromatic beverage which we prepare at our home on regular basis. It has unique taste(jaggery) and refreshing aroma(Ginger). In Maharashtra this tea is consumed on regular basis. Boiling need to avoid after adding milk into the tea else it will get curdled.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Coarsely ground fresh ginger– ½ inch or 1 ½ tbsp
  2. Grated Jaggery- 2 tbsp (adjust as per your preference)
  3. Black tea powder – 2 tsp
  4. Milk – ½ - ¾ cup
  5. Water 2 cups


  1. Wash Ginger thoroughly. Coarsely ground or thinly slice it.
  2. In a sauce pan or kettle heat water. Add ginger. Boil it on medium low flame for 8-12 minutes until mixture becomes ½ of the quantity.
  3. Add tea powder and Jaggery Simmer for 5 minutes on low medium flame.
  4. Add milk. Immediately Strain and serve hot.
