  1. SOAK 1 1/2 CUP URAD DAL FOR 2 HOURS. GRIND TO A SMOOTH PASTE WITH LITTLE WATER. ADD 1 CHOPPED ONION
  2. 1 TSP CUMIN, 1 OR 2 CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES AND SALT. MIX WELL
  3. KEEP OIL FOR DEEP FRYING. MAKE VADAS WITH HOLE IN THE MIDDLE. ADD TO HOT OIL
  4. FRY ON BOTH SIDES TILL BROWNED WELL ON MEDIUM TO HIGH FLAME. DRAIN ON PAPER TISSUE
