Easy chicken biryani

Ingredients to make Easy chicken biryani

  • 5-6 chicken pieces, with bone
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2-3 green cardamoms
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup browned onions, barista
  • salt, to taste
  • water, as required

How to make Easy chicken biryani

  1. Marinate the chicken in a mix of curd and all dry spice powder and salt for at least half hr.
  2. Wash and keep the rice aside.
  3. In a pressure cooker, add oil , butter and all whole dry spices.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and sauté on medium flame for 5-10 mins till chicken is little brown.
  5. Add water and salt and pressure cook for 2 whistles and then on low flame for 10 mins.
  6. Let the steam go off by itself, then add browned onions and rice and more salt as required.
  7. Add some water for the rice to cook well.
  8. Pressure cook for 2 more whistles.
  9. Let the steam go off and then serve hot with your favourite raita/ curd or as such only.
