Vada Pav

Ingredients to make Vada Pav

  • 2 tbsp green chutney
  • 2 tbsp garlic chutney
  • 2 potatoes boiled
  • 3 garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • Few coriander leaves
  • Few curry leaves
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • For batter...
  • 1 cup gram flour
  • salt to taste
  • water as required
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • A pinch of baking soda

How to make Vada Pav

  1. HEAT 2 TBSP OIL, ADD 1/2 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS, 1/2 TSP CORIANDER SEEDS, A PINCH OF ASAFOETIDA
  2. 3 GARLIC CHOPPED, 2 GREEN CHILLIES CHOPPED, CURRY LEAVES,
  3. 1/4 TURMERIC POWDER, MASH 2 POTATOES INTO THE TEMPERING
  4. GIVE A NICE MIX.
  5. SALT TO TASTE, 1 TSP LEMON JUICE. CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES.
  6. MIX ALL. TAKE HEAT OFF.
  7. LET IT MASALA COOL.
  8. IN A MIXING BOWL ADD 1 CUP GRAM FLOUR, A PINCH OF BAKING SODA, 1/4 RED CHILLI, PINCH ASAFOETIDA
  9. ADD 1/4 TSP TURMERIC POWDER, SALT TO TASTE.
  10. MIX ALL. ADD WATER.
  11. MAKE A THICK SMOOTH BATTER.
  12. MAKE BALLS OF POTATOES.
  13. DIP AND COAT THE POTATO BALLS WITH THE BATTER.
  14. GENTLY DROP THEM INTO HOT OIL.
  15. FLIP ALL BATATA VADAS.
  16. DEEP FRY THESE BATATA VADAS TILL THEY TURN GOLDEN BROWN.
  17. REMOVE FROM OIL.
  18. FRY SOME GREEN CHILLIES.
  19. REMOVE FROM OIL.
  20. SLICE THE PAV 3/4 WITHOUT BREAKING IT INTO TWO.
  21. SPREAD THE DRY GARLIC CHUTNEY ON ONE SIDE ADD THE GREEN CHUTNEY ON OTHER.
  22. PLACE THE PREPARED VADA BETWEEN THE PAV.
  23. ENJOY VADA PAV WITH SOME FRIED GREEN CHILLIES.
