My association with podis started at NIT Trichy where my day-scholar friends would get yummy molaga podi with Idli and it would taste like heaven for a homesick girl like me.Later on I had badgered my mom to learn the recipe and till date my kids also enjoy the Karvepak and Molagapodi made by my mom.. Pesarapodi - A healthy protein rich podi that goes well with Rice and Idli.

Ingredients Serving: 30

  1. Moong Dal (pesara pappu) - 1/2 kg
  2. Jeera - 50 gm
  3. Dry Red Chilly - 15
  4. Curry Leaves - 5 sprigs
  5. Hing - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a kadai or heavy bottomed vessel, roast all the ingredients separately.
  2. Blend to a powder in a wide mouthed mixer jar.
  3. Add salt. After cooling, store in an airtight container.
