ABOUT Poppy Seeds Halwa RECIPE

In India, the festival of Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated tomorrow. On this occassion we at RaaaZzzfoodlove wishes all our readers and fans a very Happy Raksha Bandhan. Well many special dishes are prepared on this occassion and I have brought a very special sweet dish for you all - Poppy Seeds Halwa or Khas Khas ka Halwa. Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup Poppy seeds washed and soaked for 5 hours
  2. 3/4 cup Sugar
  3. 1 cup Milk
  4. 1/2 cup Ghee
  5. 3-4 Green cardamom
  6. 3-4 Almonds slivered

Instructions

  1. Grind the poppy seeds along with a little milk in a food processor to make a smooth paste
  2. Heat 1/4 cup ghee in a non stick pan, add the ground poppy seed paste.
  3. Roast till colour changes and emits a nice aroma, add more ghee if needed Remove and keep aside
  4. Add milk, sugar and cardomoms in a pot, bring it to a boil
  5. Now add the roasted poppy seeds and cook until it becomes thick
  6. Transfer it into a serving dish and drizzle the remaining ghee.
  7. Garnish with almonds and serve warm!
