ABOUT Tom Yum Soup - Thai Style RECIPE

A bowl of this appetizing soup gives me a soul satisfying experience. A great comfort food for me to lift up my spirits.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1/2 litre chicken stock
  2. 5-6 kaffir lime leaves
  3. 2 stalks of lemongrass (only the white part to be used)
  4. 1" galangal (Thai ginger), sliced
  5. 2 green chilies
  6. 1 tsp. tomato paste
  7. 1 tbsp. tomato sauce
  8. 1 tsp. red chili powder
  9. salt to taste
  10. 1/2 cup mushroom, sliced
  11. 1/2 cup prawns / shrimps, cleaned & deveined
  12. juice of 1/2 lime
  13. 1 tsp. coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring the stock to a boil. Then add the kaffir lime leaves, galangal and lemongrass. Simmer on a low flame for 7-8 minutes.
  2. Add rest of the ingredients (except lime juice & coriander leaves). Simmer further for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Drizzle lime juice. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve as a light meal.
