Cabbage Chana Dal curry

Ingredients to make Cabbage Chana Dal curry

  • cabbage chopped - 500mg (boiled)
  • chana dal - 1/2 cup (boiled)
  • ginger garlic - 1 tbsp paste
  • onion - 1 medium size chopped
  • Green chilies - 2
  • tomato - 1 (medium size) chopped
  • curry leaves - 10
  • mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
  • cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
  • coriander chopped - 1 tbsp
  • oil - 4 tbsp
  • water as required
  • salt as per taste

How to make Cabbage Chana Dal curry

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves fry 2 mins.
  2. Add chopped onions and green chilies, once onions turns in to soft and brown colour then add ginger garlic paste,fry 3 mins.
  3. Add chopped tomato and turmeric powder.
  4. Add the boiled chana dal,boiled cabbage and water. Cover and cook it.
  5. Add salt and red chili powder.
  6. Mix well. Cover and cook till cabbage is cooked.
  7. Add the chopped coriander.
  8. Mix well and saute for a minute. The cabbage chana dal sabzi is done.Garnish it with chopped coriander and serve .

My Tip:

It goes well with roti, plain rice or parathas.
