ABOUT Aloo jeera gravy RECIPE

A simple yet tasty gravy made with potatoes.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 3 boiled potatoes
  2. 2 medium tomatoes
  3. 1 tbsp oil
  4. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  5. pinch asafoetida
  6. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  7. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  8. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  9. water, as required
  10. 1 tbsp coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Purée the tomatoes in a blender.
  2. In a wok heat oil and add cumin seeds, add asafoetida as they crackle.
  3. Mash potatoes with hand and put them in the wok.
  4. Add tomato purée and mix well.
  5. Add salt and other dry spices and mix well.
  6. Add as much as required for the gravy.
  7. Let it come to boil then simmer for 3-5 mins on low flame.
  8. Add chopped coriander and serve hot with roti or parantha.
