Ingredients to make vegetable pulao

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 potato
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 8-10 French beans
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 cup capsicum ( red, green , yellow)
  • 1/2 cup nutrela soya chunks
  • 4-5 baby corn
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt, to taste
  • water, as required

How to make vegetable pulao

  1. Wash and soak the rice and keep aside.
  2. Chop all the vegetables into pieces.
  3. Soak nutrela soya chunks in warm water.
  4. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.
  5. As the seeds crackle add all the vegetables and soya chunks.
  6. Add little salt and sauté for 3-4 mins on high flame.
  7. Add rice and mix well.
  8. Add more salt , turmeric powder and red chilli powder and mix well.
  9. Add as much water as required to cook the rice.
  10. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and then switch off the gas.
  11. Let the steam go off and then serve hot.
