Ingredients to make Mutton Kola urundai

  • Mutton kheema 1/4 kg
  • Ingredients to grind:
  • cinnamon stick 1 nos ( half the size of index finger)
  • cardamom 2
  • cloves 3
  • Dry chilli 5
  • fennel/Saunf 1 tsp
  • garlic 10 pods
  • ginger 1 inch
  • curry leaves 3 sprigs
  • Small onion 10 ( or 1 medium size onion)
  • Grated coconut 2 tbsp
  • Roasted gram 1 tbsp
  • Mutton masala 1 tsp
  • egg 1
  • salt (fine) 1 tsp
  • oil for frying

How to make Mutton Kola urundai

  1. Take a kadai, add 2 tsp of oil and shallow fry all the ingredients to grind except coconut & mutton masala.
  2. Turn off the stove & then add coconut and Mutton masala.Mix it and cool it down .
  3. In another kadai, add 3 tsp oil and cook the Mutton kheema till it drains all the water& dry.Cool it down.
  4. In a mixie jar add the cooled ingredients to grind & salt .pulse it to coarse mixture.
  5. Add cooked Mutton and pulse it till all gets mixed well. It should look like dough.
  6. Transfer the contents to the bowl, add egg and mix it well.
  7. Make small smooth balls and fry them. Ready.

My Tip:

You can less than 1/4 cup of mutton gravy instead of Mutton masala. The kola will be moist instead of dry.
