Ingredients to make Fried Onion Uttappam

  • rice 2 cup
  • onion chopped 2 cup
  • Cooking oil 2 tsp for fry
  • Cooking oil 1/4 cup for drizzle
  • red chilli 2
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • water
  • salt to taste

How to make Fried Onion Uttappam

  1. HEAT OIL AND FRY RED CHILLI
  2. ONION, FRY TILL TENDER
  3. TURMERIC POWDER
  4. CUMIN SEEDS
  5. TRANSFER HALF IN TO MIXER GRINDER
  6. FINELY CHOPPED CURRY LEAVES
  7. WASHED, OVERNIGHT SOAKED RICE
  8. SALT AND WATER
  9. GRIND SMOOTHLY
  10. TRANSFER BATTER INTO A VESSEL
  11. POUR SUFFICIENT WATER
  12. ADD FRIED ONION
  13. GRATED COCONUT, MIX WELL
  14. APPLY OIL TO HEATED TAVA
  15. POUR LADDLE FULL OF BATTER AND CLOSE THE LID
  16. OPEN THE LID AND FLIP OVER IT, COOK FOR 1 MINUTE IN MEDIUM FLAME
  17. REMOVE AND SERVE IN HOT, REPEAT SAME PROCESS.
