Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Gram flour 1 cup
  2. Carrom seeds 1/2 tesp
  3. Baking soda 1/8 tesp
  4. Salt 3/4 tesp
  5. Turmeric powder 1/2 tesp
  6. Black pepper 4-5
  7. Oil 1 tbsp + for deep frying
  8. Water as needed

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1 CUP GRAM FLOUR, 1/2 TESP CARROM SEEDS, 1/8 TESP BAKING SODA.
  2. ADD 3/4 TESP SALT, 1/2 TESP TURMERIC POWDER.
  3. ADD 4-5 CRUSHED BLACK PEPPER AND MIX WELL.
  4. GRADUALLY ADD WATER AND MAKE A TIGHT DOUGH.
  5. WATER USED LESS THAN 1/4 CUP.
  6. ADD 1 TBSP OIL AND KNEAD WELL TO MAKE A SMOOTH, STIFF AND NON STICKY DOUGH.
  7. REST THE DOUGH FOR 30 MINUTES.
  8. DIVIDE THE DOUGH INTO SMALL BALLS APPROX. 10-12.
  9. LIGHTLY GREASE BACK OF A PLATE.
  10. TAKE A BALL. PRESS IT LIGHTLY WITH HEELS OF YOUR PALM AND STRETCH OUTWARDS.
  11. STRETCH ALL BALLS.
  12. HEAT OIL FOR DEEP FRYING. SLIP PREPARED STRIPS IN MEDIUM HOT OIL.
  13. DEEP FRY ON MEDIUM LOW HEAT TILL CRISP.
  14. WHEN CRISP REMOVE TO ABSORBENT PAPER.
  15. SPRINKLE WITH CHAT MASALA (OPTIONAL).
