Ingredients to make Orange Sooji Halwa in Coconut Milk

  • Fine semolina or Sooji – 3-4 tbsp
  • ghee – 2 tbsp.
  • sugar –2-3 tbsp
  • Warm coconut Milk – 1cup for Halwa + ¼ cup for preparing kesar/saffron mixture
  • cardamom powder – ½ tsp
  • Small raisins – 5-6 roughly chopped.
  • Orange Zest – 1 tsp
  • saffron Strands – 8-9

How to make Orange Sooji Halwa in Coconut Milk

  1. Kesar milk Mixture - In a small bowl take ¼ cup warm coconut milk. Add kesar or saffron strands. Mix well.
  2. Heat pan. Add fine semolina or sooji. Dry roast on low flame till it gets golden brown color. It will take 8-10 minutes.
  3. Add Ghee. Mix well.
  4. Add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well.
  5. Add 1 cup fresh and warm coconut milk and half of the kesar milk mixture. and mix well for 1 minute. Switch off the flame.
  6. Add finely chopped raisins and orange zest. Mix well. Halwa is ready.
  7. Garnish with kesar strands and serve hot.

My Tip:

Dry Roast semolina well for 8-10 minutes on a low flame to get best result.
