Chicken Momos (Steamed)

Ingredients to make Chicken Momos (Steamed)

  • chicken (minced) 250 gm
  • all purpose flour 250 gm
  • oil 1/2 cup
  • salt (as per taste)
  • coriander leaves
  • mint leaves
  • turmeric 1/4 tsp.
  • Garam masala 1 tsp.
  • Green chilli 3-4
  • Red chilli Powder 1 tsp.
  • onion 1 (medium)
  • ginger- Garlic Paste 2 tbs.
  • lemon Juice 1 tbs.
  • For Momos Chutney: Red chilli 1/2 cup
  • tomato 3
  • vinegar (As per taste)
  • sugar (As per taste)
  • tomato Ketchup 1 tbs.
  • Crush garlic Clove 4 tbs.
  • soya sauce
  • water to knead Maida

How to make Chicken Momos (Steamed)

  1. For momos chutney: Heat 2 cups of water in a pan and let it boils. When water comes to a boil, add 2-3 tomatoes, soaked red chilli.
  2. Boil tomatoes on a medium flame and cook them for 5-6 min.
  3. Strain the water and allow tomatoes and red chili to cool. Remove tomatoes peel.
  4. Chop roughly and add in a blender jar with juice and blend.
  5. Heat 1/2 cup of oil, add Crush Garlic and saute, add onion and saute, add Tomato Puree, Tomato Ketchup, Sugar, Vinegar, Soya Sauce and cook for 5 min.
  6. Blend all ingredients and make a paste. Chutney is ready to keep aside
  7. To prepare the dough: combine the maida / all purpose flour, salt, and hot oil together, using a little water at a time bind them together to form a soft dough. Keep it covered with a wet cloth and let it rest till further use.
  8. For the Chicken Filling: Heat oil and saute onion and marinated chicken with (Ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, Salt, Turmeric, Green Chilli Paste, Mint leaves, and Coriander leaves paste) and saute for 2 min.
  9. Add Garam masala, Red chilli powder, chop Coriander and Mint leaves, Soya Sauce and saute/Cook for 5 min.
  10. Remove from the heat and keep aside.
  11. Roll the dough thinly into rounds.
  12. Take a round, wet edge and place some filling in the center.
  13. Bring edges together to cover the filling. Twist to seal and fill the rest in the same way.
  14. Steam for about 15 minutes and serve with Momos Chutney.
