Set dosa

Ingredients to make Set dosa

  • rice – 2 cups
  • urad dal – 1 cup
  • Poha / Flattened rice – 1 cup
  • fenugreek seeds / Methi / Vendayam – 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • water as needed
  • oil for cooking dosa

How to make Set dosa

  1. Wash and Soak rice, dal,poha and fenugreek seeds for 5 hours. Once soaked drain and set aside.
  2. Now take the dal,poha, rice and methi seeds mix in a blender. Puree them.
  3. Once they are half pureed add in soaked squeezed poha and grind them.
  4. Add little water at a time and puree them smoothly.
  5. Pour it to a container and add some salt. Mix well. Leave this batter to ferment for 8 hours or overnight.
  6. Once the batter is fermented, mix it well.
  7. Heat a non stick tawa on medium heat, pour small ladleful of batter on hot tawa, spread it little, dont spread too much. Drizzle some oil around the sides of the dosa.
  8. Let it cook for a min, now flip over and cook for one more min.
  9. Once it is done remove and serve with coconut chutney or tomato chutney.
