Ingredients to make vadapav

  • 250 gms boiled n mashed pototaes
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 fine chopped green chillies
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp green chilly paste
  • 2 sp bread crumbs
  • 2 sp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1/4 tsp termuric powder
  • Pinch of hing n curry leaves
  • 2 sp Chopped Green garlic
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • For batter
  • 200 gms gram flour
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • water
  • Green chuteny
  • khajur-imli chuteny
  • Dry vadapav chuteny

How to make vadapav

  1. Heat oil Splutter Mustard n Urad Dal, Add Hing n Curry leaves. Add chopped onion cook till transparent.
  2. Add chopped chillies ,salt n turmeric powder. Off gas cool it down.
  3. Add in Mashed Potatoes, add green chilies, Breadcrumbs, Lemon juice, chopped Garlic n coriander leaves. Makes balls.
  4. Heat oil dip balls in batter n Fry till golden brown.
  5. Assemble in pav with spread green Chuteny at upside,Khajur-Imli Chuteny at downside,sprinkle dry Chuteny powder put vada in pav. N serve it.

My Tip:

make batter n keep aside for 30 to 40 mins . no need soda for rising n softness of outer layer.
