ABOUT Phool Makhana Ghee Roast RECIPE

Makhana is also known as Lotus seeds or Fox Nut or Gorgon nut, healthy and nutritious rich in protein, V B and dietary minerals. Popped makhana is called as Pool Makhana and used in making variety of dishes. Makhana kheer is one of the popular dish which is consumed during fasting especially in Bihar. It helps in regulating blood presser, helps in aging process, digesting etc. In this recipe I have roasted Pool makhana in Ghee and seasoned with chat masala and some salt. One of the favorite snack which we consume on regular basis.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Makhana/Lotus seeds/Foxnuts – 1 cup
  2. Ghee – 1 ½ tsp
  3. Salt a small pinch (adjust as per your requirement)
  4. Chat masala – ¼ tsp (adjust)

Instructions

  1. In a nonstick pan, heat Ghee. Add makhana. Roast it on a low flame until crisp and crunchy. It will take 8-10 minutes.
  2. Add salt. Mix well.
  3. Remove it to a plate or bowl. Add chat masala. Toss it
  4. Serve.
