ABOUT Chicken soup RECIPE

This is my mom in law’s recipe of chicken soup, ideal for toddlers too. Very comforting and healthy for winter months.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 4-5 chicken pieces, on bone
  2. 1 tsp oil
  3. 1 tbsp butter
  4. 1 black cardamom
  5. 2-3 green cardamoms
  6. 2-3 cloves
  7. 1/2 inch cinnamon
  8. 1 bay leaf
  9. 600-700 ml water
  10. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  11. salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and butter in a cooker and add all whole spices and sauté for a min.
  2. Add the chicken pieces and sauté them on medium flame for 10-12 mins till the pieces are little brown and cooked.
  3. Add water, salt and turmeric powder.
  4. Cook for 2 whistles and then on low flame for 20-25 mins
  5. Let the heat go off and serve the chicken with soup , add more black pepper powder if required.
