ABOUT Besan French Toast RECIPE

'Gram Flour'- Senaga Pindi in Telugu, Kadalamavu in Tamil, Kedalehittoo in Kannada, Kadala Podi in Malayalam, Channa no lot in Gujrati, Baeshun in Bengali & Bessan in Punjabi is naturally higher in protein, vitamin, minerals and gluten free as compared to other wheat based flours. Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 1/2 cup gram flour
  2. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  3. 1 teaspoon salt
  4. 1 tablespoon chopped coriander
  5. 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  6. 1 small onion finely chopped
  7. 1 small tomato finely chopped
  8. 2 green chilies finely chopped
  9. 10 bread slices
  10. Oil for pan frying
  11. Water as required
  12. For garnishing- 1 tablespoon boiled corn

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl add besan, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder and salt. Mix these ingredients into a smooth runny batter with help of little water.
  2. Now add the green chilies, onion, tomato and coriander. Keep aside a little amount of all of these for garnishing.
  3. Mix everything together. Dip each slice of bread in the batter (one side only) & pan fry with a little oil on tawa or a non sticky pan.
  4. Garnish with chopped onion, tomato, coriander, corn and little lemon juice. Serve hot with ketchup.
