ABOUT Ghost ki Yakhani RECIPE

Yakhani of gosht or chicken or mince is a lentil added ,white pulao mostly with chana daal and fried potatoes.Aromatic Basmati rice ,just right in the comfort of home on a Sunday Afternoon for Lunch.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 250 grams Mutton(goat)
  2. 2 onions
  3. 2 medium potatoes
  4. 1/2 cup chana daal
  5. 100 grams curd
  6. 3Tblspn Oil
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 1tblspn black pepper powder
  9. 1tblspn garam masala(tej patta and star anise ground or whole)
  10. 1tspn cummin powder
  11. 250 grams dubara basmati rice
  12. 1tspn pure ghee
  13. 2tblspn ginger garlic paste

Instructions

  1. Wash clean mutton
  2. Marinade with curd, salt,ginger garlic paste,keep all ingredients ready
  3. Soak chana daal 10 minutes
  4. Chop onions fine
  5. Cut potatoes into big pieces
  6. Heat oil in a pressure cooker fry the potatoes 3-4 minutes,remove aside
  7. Now add onions to hot oil saute 2-3 minutes
  8. Add chana dall now and mix well
  9. Add the mutton marinade into this
  10. Pressure cook 10 minutes with 100 ml water
  11. Open the pressure cooker add potatoes and washed rice
  12. Add water as per measure of 250 grams rice double,lessen depending on water in mutton
  13. Pressure cooked 10 minutes ,kept close till pressure gone
  14. Open carefully ,remove the potatoes slowly to not break them and then rest of the pulao
  15. Serve with pickle or chutney or onion tomato kachumbar ie raita ,
  16. Garnish with mint and lime pieces also use as u like
