ABOUT Uppumunchi. RECIPE

The word uppumunchi makes me nostalgic and my mouth water.I am sure that is the case with every Mangalore village people. Which kucchilakki ganji accompanied with coconut oil or ghee and this uppumunchi.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Dry red chilly or byadgi menasu.....8_10
  2. Mustard...1 small spoon
  3. Crystal salt....1spoon
  4. Tamarind....3 peanut size
  5. jaggery powder....1 spoon
  6. Onion.....1
  7. coconut oil....1 spoon

Instructions

  1. Take out red dry chillies or byadgi menasu and give it a touch of flames.
  2. Add these chillies into a pan with coconut oil and mustard.fry these.
  3. Add the fried items tamarind, jaggery,and salt into the thing showed in the pic and powder them(not nicely).
  4. Now add the above into a bowl and add and mix chopped onion into it
  5. Serve with kucchilakki ganji(red rice).
