Salted Caramel

Ingredients to make Salted Caramel

  • 250 gms granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 6 tbsp butter, salted
  • 1 tsp salt

How to make Salted Caramel

  1. Take a pan and heat the granulated sugar on a medium flame, stir it continuously with the help of a wooden spoon.
  2. While stirring, you will see that clumps of sugar will start to form, these clumps will melt and form into a brown coloured thick syrup. (Do not let the sugar burn while doing this step).
  3. After the sugar clumps have totally broken down, gently add in the butter and stir well. (Note that the caramel will become bubbly during the addition of butter).
  4. Mix the butter well for 2-3 minutes with the caramel until it is completely absorbed with it.
  5. Next, gently pour in the cream while stirring continuously. In this step, the mixture will rapidly bubble so be careful.
  6. Let this mixture boil for another minute. Note that it will rise while its boiling.
  7. Now remove it from the heat and add in the salt. Mix it well. Let it cool down and serve as desired.
