On a rainy day, having bajji along with hot chai can never go wrong. There are many kind of veggies bajji But nothing can beat the traditional banana bajji. I love it so much with a cup of chai.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw Plantain / Vazhakai – 1 big one
  2. Oil for deep frying
  3. For Batter:
  4. Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu / Besan – 1 cup
  5. Maida-1/2 tablespoons
  6. Corn flour-1/4 tblspn
  7. Rice Flour – 1 tblspn
  8. Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tblspn
  9. Chilli Powder – 1 tblspn
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Baking Soda – 1/4 tsp
  12. Asafoetida / Hing – 1/4 tsp
  13. Water – 3/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Peel banana and cut them in half. Slice them thinly. Set this aside till use.

  3. Heat oil for deep frying.
  4. Dip the banana sliced in batter and fry on both sides till golden and crispy.
  5. Drain on a paper towel.
  6. Serve with coconut chutney
