Sweet Potato Kheer

Ingredients to make Sweet Potato Kheer

  • Sweet potato – 1 cup (washed, Peeled and grated)
  • sugar –1/2 cup (adjust)
  • Full Fat Milk – 2 cups
  • cream – 2 tbsp (optional)
  • nutmeg powder – 1/2tsp
  • cardamom Powder – 1tsp
  • cashew nuts crushed – 1tbsp.
  • almonds - 1tbsp. Peeled and sliced or Slivered
  • raisins – 7-8
  • ghee – 2 tbsp

How to make Sweet Potato Kheer

  1. In a nonstick pan or Wok, heat ghee, add grated sweet potato. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes on a medium-low flame.
  2. Add Sugar. Stir and let sugar melt.
  3. Add 3/4th of total milk, bring back to a boil. Cook until mixture becomes little thick.
  4. Add crushed cashew nuts and slivered or sliced almonds, nutmeg, and cardamom powder. Stir.
  5. Add remaining milk and cream. Cook for 1 more minutes.
  6. Serve hot.

My Tip:

Don’t overcook kheer else sweet potato will disintegrate or crumble. If required, add more milk to adjust the consistency.
