Sweet Potato :sweet_potato: Jamun

Ingredients to make Sweet Potato :sweet_potato: Jamun

  • 4-5 medium size sweet potatoes
  • 3-4 tablespoon of all purpose flour
  • 5-6 tablespoon of finely grated coconut
  • 1/2 tablespoon of cardamom powder
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water

How to make Sweet Potato :sweet_potato: Jamun

  1. Boil the sweet potatoes in a cooker with 2-3 whistle
  2. Take them out from the water after boiling, peel them and smash them smooth
  3. Mix all purpose flour, grated coconut, 1/2 tablespoon of cardamom powder with the smashed potatoes and shape them like Jamun
  4. Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry them in medium flame till golden in colour.
  5. Then make sugar syrup with 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 tablespoon of cardamom powder
  6. Dip the fried Jamuns in sugar syrup and let it rest for some time like 20 minutes. Take out the Jamun from sugar syrup and serve

My Tip:

Don’t soak the Jamuns in sugar syrup for long time or they may break. Don’t mix more flour in the potato mixture or else they may become hard after frying.
