It is a traditional bangali pitha.bangalies called this dal- pakon pitha.it is just melt on the mouth.it is very important thing that while make the dough measured lentil liquid & add rice flour little by little..if dough gets sticky add more all purpose flour.make it& gall in love with this bangali delicacy. thanks.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Sugar syrup:
  2. Sugar. 1&@/2 cup
  3. Water. 1/2 cup
  4. Cinnamon stick 2, cardamom. 1
  5. Saffron. 1/2 pinch.
  6. Lamon juice. 1 tsp
  7. Dough:
  8. All purpose flour 3 or. 4 tbs
  9. Rice flour. 3/4 cup
  10. Lentil. 1/2 cup
  11. Water as to needed
  12. Salt 1tsp

Instructions

  1. TRANSFER 1&1/2 CUP SUGAR IN 1/2 CUP BOILING WATER.
  2. ADD 2 CINAMON STICK & CARDAMOM TO SYRUP.
  3. ADD 1/2 TBS LAMON JUICE.
  4. STIR WELL UNTIL SUGAR DISSOLVES PROPERLY.
  5. ADD 1/2 TBS SAFFRON INFUSED COLOUR.
  6. TAKE 1/2 CUP OF LENTIL.
  7. SOAK IN WATER,WASH& DRAINED WELL.
  8. BOIL LENTILS IN 1&1/2 CUP OF WATER.
  9. LET IT BE A LITTLE COOL& BLEND IT.
  10. MAKE LENTIL LIQUID TO 1 CUP ADDING WATER IF IT REQUIRES.
  11. ADD 1/4 TSP SALT.
  12. ADD 3/4 CUP RICE FLOUR.
  13. MAKE STIR.
  14. ADD 3OR4 TBS ALL PURPOSE STIR AGAIN.
  15. KNEADING WELL MAKE A SOFT & SMOOTH DOUGH.
  16. DIVIDE THE DOUGH & MAKE THICKER ROTI FLATTEN WITH ROLLING PIN.
  17. ROTI SHOULD BE THICK LIKE THIS.
  18. GREASE THE ROTI WITH GHEE OR VEG OIL.
  19. CUT THE ROTI INTO DESIRED SHAPE USING A TOOTHPICK.
  20. CREAT PATTERN WITH TOOTH PICK.
  21. CREAT ANOTHER PATTERN CARVING DOUGH WITH TOOTHPICK .
  22. JUST SET THE CURVES PRESSING WITH TOOTH PICK.
  23. LENTIL CAKES ARE READY TO FRY.
  24. HEAT SUFFICIENT OIL ON A PAN& RELEASE THE LENTIL CAKES.
  25. FRY THEM ON MEDIUM TO LOWER FLAME.
  26. WHEN ONE SIDE IS FULLY DONE FLIP THEM.
  27. WHEN ALL LENTIL CAKES GET PERFECT GOLDEN BROWN COLOUR REMOVE THEM FROM OIL.
  28. SOAK IN SUGAR SYRUP.
  29. ALLOW THEM TO ABSORB SUGAR SYRUP FOR 4/5 MINUTES.
  30. SERVE AND ENJOY......
