Ingredients to make Unique Dal Cake

  • sugar syrup:
  • sugar. 1&@/2 cup
  • water. 1/2 cup
  • cinnamon stick 2, cardamom. 1
  • saffron. 1/2 pinch.
  • Lamon juice. 1 tsp
  • Dough:
  • all purpose flour 3 or. 4 tbs
  • Rice flour. 3/4 cup
  • Lentil. 1/2 cup
  • water as to needed
  • salt 1tsp

How to make Unique Dal Cake

  1. ADD 1.5 CUPS SUGAR INTO 1/2 CUP BOILING WATER
  2. ADD 2 CINNAMON STICKS, 1 CARDAMOM
  3. ADD 1/2 TBSP LEMON JUICE, STIR UNTIL THE SUGAR DISSOLVES
  4. ADD 1/2 TBSP SAFFRON INFUSED COLOUR, TAKE OFF HEAT
  5. SOAK 1/2 CUP MASOOR DAL FOR 30 MINS
  6. BOIL LENTILS IN 1.5 CUPS OF WATER
  7. ALLOW THE DAL TO COOL, BLEND IN A GRINDER
  8. ADD 1/4 TSP SALT, 3/4 CUP RICE FLOUR
  9. STIR QUICKLY
  10. ADD 3-4 TBSP FLOUR, MIX & TAKE OFF HEAT
  11. ALLOW TO COOL, KNEAD INTO A SMOOTH DOUGH
  12. ROLL OUT THICK ROTIS
  13. GREASE THE ROTI WITH GHEE/OIL
  14. CUT & SHAPE INTO DESIRED PATTERNS
  15. LENTIL CAKES ARE READY TO FRY
  16. DEEP FRY IN HOT OIL ON MEDIUM HEAT
  17. FRY UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP
  18. SOAK IN THE READY SUGAR SYRUP FOR 4-5 MINS
