Ingredients to make Chapathi upma

  • Chapathi - 4
  • onion -2
  • tomato -2
  • coconut - 2 tablespoon
  • green chilly -3
  • oil
  • salt
  • mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Channa dal (optional) - 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • chilly powder - 1 teaspoon (adjust as you need)
  • hing - 1/2 teaspoon
  • curry leaves
  • coriander Leaves - To Garnish

How to make Chapathi upma

  1. Chop the chapathi length wise and keep aside.
  2. Chop onion tomato green chilly and set aside.
  3. Take a pan, add oil.
  4. Add mustard seeds,once it starts spluttering add curry leaves, channa dal , onion and saute until it turns translucent.
  5. Add tomatoes and cook well.
  6. Once tomato is cooked, add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, hing, salt and mix well.
  7. Add grated coconut and saute for a min.
  8. Add chopped chapathi and mix well.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

My Tip:

Add boiled veggies to enhance the taste.
