Here in banglore onion samosas are very common.i gave a little twist that i use wheat flour instead of maida and bake them instead of frying

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup wheat flour
  2. 1 tsp carom seeds
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. 1 tbsp oil
  5. 1/4 cup beet juice
  6. 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  7. For filling----
  8. 1 cup fine chopped onion
  9. 1 green chilli
  10. 4 cloves of garlic
  11. 1 tsp ginger
  12. 4 curry leaves
  13. 4 mint leaves
  14. 1 tsp oil
  15. 1 tsp kalonji
  16. 1 tsp fennel seeds
  17. 1 tsp jeera
  18. Pinch of hing
  19. Salt as per taste
  20. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  21. 1/2 tsp haldi
  22. 1 tsp chaat masala
  23. 1 tsp garam masala
  24. Oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. TAKE FLOUR IN BOWL AND ADD CAROM SEEDS AND SALT
  2. ADD BEETROOT JUICE AND OIL
  3. AND MAKE A DOUGH KEEP ASIDE
  4. HEAT OIL ADD KALONJI AND FENNEL
  5. ADD GINGER AND MINCED GARLIC
  6. ADD ONION AND SAUTE
  7. ADD SALT RED CHILLI POWDER AND HALDI
  8. ADD CHAAT MASALA AND GARAM MASALA
  9. ADD MINT LEAVES MIX THEM AND OUR FILLING IS READY
  10. NOW TAKE A BALL FROM DOUGH AND ROLL DOWN
  11. TAKE A MOULD AND PUT ROLLED DISC UPON IT AND FILL WITH ONION FILLING
  12. FOLD THE OTHER HALF AND PRESS IT REMOVE EXTRA PART AND BRING THE SAMOSA OUT
  13. GREASE TRAY ARRANGE ALL SAMOSAS AND GREASE THEM ALSO
  14. AND BAKE THEM 25 MIN AT 180 DEGREE
  15. OUR SAMOSAS ARE READY
  16. BRUSH THEM WITH BUTTER
  17. AND THEY ARE READY TO SERVE
