About Shukto Recipe

Shukto is a traditional bengali dish, bongs have it as part of their lunch with rice.

Shukto

Ingredients to make Shukto

  • Bitter gourd 1.
  • White radish 1 (1 inch cubes ).
  • Sweet potatoes 1 (1 inch cube ).
  • potato 1 (1 inch cube ).
  • Eggplant 1 (1 inch cube ).
  • Drumstick 1 cup.
  • Raw papaya 1 (1 inch cube).
  • Plantain 1( 1 inch cube ).
  • Lentil dumplings 1 cup.
  • ginger paste 1 tsp.
  • Milk 4 tbsp.
  • Radhuni 1 tsp.
  • bay leaf 1.
  • Dry red chilli 1.
  • ghee 2 tbsp.
  • Refined oil 8 tbsp.
  • Salt & sugar as needed.

How to make Shukto

  1. Fry the lentil dumplings & keep aside.
  2. Heat oil & add the ginger paste along with sugar ,salt , red chilli , Radhuni & bay leaf .
  3. Stir it.
  4. Add the vegetables & saute in the mixture
  5. Add a cup of water & cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
  6. Add milk & lentil dumplings in it & cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Turn off the flame .
  8. Add ghee .
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice.
