Ingredients to make malpua

  • 1/2 cup leftover chapati dough
  • 1/2 ripen banana chopped
  • 2 tbsp curd
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • water as required
  • ghee for frying
  • for sugar syrup:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

How to make malpua

  1. first take the dough and divide into small portions
  2. in a mixer jar add the dough, banana, curd, fennel seeds and cardamoms and crush to a smooth paste
  3. add water as required and crush again
  4. the batter should be thick
  5. transfer the batter into a bowl and keep aside
  6. now for making syrup, heat a pan
  7. add sugar and water
  8. make syrup with one string consistency
  9. switch off the flame and keep aside
  10. now heat ghee in a pan for deep frying
  11. pour a spoon full of batter in the hot ghee and fry it on low flame till brown from one side
  12. the turn it to fry the other side
  13. once done, take it out from ghee and dip in sugar syrup for a minute
  14. take them out from the syrup, sprinkle some fennel seeds and serve
