ABOUT Chicken Curry RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Whole chicken 1 kg
  2. Red onion 3 medium (sliced)
  3. Ginger garlic chilli paste - 2 tbsp
  4. Mustard oil 250 ml
  5. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
  6. Cumin powder 1 tbsp
  7. coriander powder 1 tbsp
  8. Yogurt (blend) 1/4 cup
  9. Black Pepper 1 tsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Bay leaf - 2
  12. Dry red chilli 1-2
  13. Black cumin seeds 1 tsp
  14. Green Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
  15. Water 1 cup (boiled) for gravy or as required
  16. Whole garam masala paste:
  17. 1 big cardamom
  18. 4 GREEN CARDAMOM
  19. 4 cloves
  20. 1 inch cinnamon
  21. Roasted coriander seed - 1 tsp
  22. 1 tsp mace

Instructions

  1. Clean, wash and dry chicken pieces. Keep aside. Heat oil in a deep pan, add bay leaf , black cumin seeds and dry red chillies. Add onion till it becomes pink in color. Add ginger garlic chilli paste. Cook till the raw aroma goes.
  2. Add chicken and saute for 5 minutes. Add all spices, yogurt and salt. Cook till it starts leaving oil.
  3. Once chicken is almost cooked add whole garam masala paste. Cook till it gives a nice aroma. Add water to get a nice consistency.
  4. Boil gravy for 5-10 minutes on med-hi flame. Turn off the heat, add green coriander leaves. Serve with chapati or steamed rice
