About Masala Pancake Recipe

Recommended time to have it is in breakfast. Easy to make and consumes less time in making cooking as well as doing preparation.

Masala Pancake

Ingredients to make Masala Pancake

  • wheat flour 2 1/2 cups
  • yogurt 1 cup
  • baking soda 1 Tsp
  • water as required
  • onion finely chopped 1 medium
  • tomato finely chopped 1 medium
  • green chillies finely chopped 3-4
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Aamchur powder / chaat masala 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • For tempering
  • mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves 8-10
  • coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsps
  • oil required for sauteing and tempering

How to make Masala Pancake

  1. In a bowl whisk yogurt and wheat flour coarsely and add water little by little to get dosa like consistency making sure there is no lumps formation and then add salt.
  2. Let the batter rest for 1 hour.
  3. After letting it rest for an hour it's time to add other ingredients. Now add onion, green chillies, tomato, turmeric powder, red chili powder and chaat masala and also add salt accordingly with coriander leaves. Mix this batter nicely.
  4. Heat 2 tbsps of oil in tempering kadai and allow the oil to heat. Now add mustard seeds and let it pop, then add cumin seeds and curry leaves. Add this mixture to batter and mix it nicely.
  5. Heat the pan and add few drops of oil in it. Now spread one laddle of batter on pan and spread it evenly. Allow it to cook till golden brown.
  6. Serve it with ketchup or coconut chutney or mint chutney.
