Sweet Potato Gulab Jamun

Ingredients to make Sweet Potato Gulab Jamun

  • Sweet potato - 250 gm
  • maida - 25 gm
  • Oil / ghee - for frying
  • sugar - 250 gm
  • water - 125 ml
  • Cardmom powder - 2 tsp

How to make Sweet Potato Gulab Jamun

  1. Wash and clean sweet potato.
  2. Pressure cook it till 4-5 whistles.
  3. Let it cool. Take it out and peel it.
  4. Mash is nicely using potato masher.
  5. Add maida and knead it. Gather it at one place like a dough.
  6. Make medium size balls around 8-10 you will get.
  7. Heat oil / Ghee in a kadai.
  8. Fry balls on medium flame till it turns golden brown.
  9. Keep it aside.
  10. Take sugar and water together in a pan.
  11. Cook it on a low flame till half string consistency.
  12. Once syrup is done, switch off the flame and add cardamom powder to it.
  13. Let it become warm and not hot.
  14. Now add fried balls to it and dip it nicely in sugar syrup.
  15. Cover it with the lid and keep it aside. Let it be soaked for 45 - 50 min.
  16. Sweet Potato Gulab Jamun is Ready.
