About Mango Custard Halwa... Recipe

A slurplicious halwa that is made with mango-the king of fruits. I have used Kenyan mangoes as these are available here at this time of the year. Lovely colour as well as taste that tickles your tastebuds and wants you to crave for more. Sugar is also minimised due to the sweetness of mangoes used, hence all in all, a perfect dessert idea for your loved ones allowing you to keep a check on their health as well. Mango Custard Halwa...

Ingredients to make Mango Custard Halwa...

  • Custard powder 1/2 cup
  • full fat milk 1 litre
  • mango puree 2 cups
  • sugar 1/4th cup
  • Mixed nuts 1/4th cup
  • cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Fresh cream 1/2 cup

How to make Mango Custard Halwa...

  1. Boil milk on a high heat.
  2. As soon as it starts boiling, lower the heat and simmer.
  3. Mix custard powder in milk and stir until lumpfree.
  4. Add this to the simmering milk.
  5. Keep stirring until it thickens on a low to medium high heat.
  6. The raw flavour should disappear.
  7. Add mango puree and cardamom powder along with the nuts next.
  8. Mix well and add sugar too.
  9. It can be adjusted accordingly as the mango puree will be sweet.
  10. Simmer until it reaches a desired consistency as that of a halwa.
  11. Finally add fresh cream to give it the finishing touches.
  12. Serve it chilled for an enhanced taste and texture.
