Ingredients Serving: 6
50 grams melted butter
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
1 tblsp sugar
250 grams all purpose flour
A pinch of salt
1 tsp baking soda
300 - 350 ml water
oil to fry
For the chocolate dipping sauce
200 grams dark chocolate
100 ml cream
100 ml milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
2 tblsp honey
For the cinnamon sugar
50 grams superfine sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
Make the batter for the churros first. Measure out the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
Bring water to a rapid boil. Add vanillaand butter to it. Pour it into the flour mix and beat it quickly until it is lump-free. Keep aside.
Make the dipping sauce next. In a saucepan add the milk and cream and bring to a boil. Add in the chocolate and whisk until smooth.
Add vanilla and honey. Mix well and until glossy. Keep warm on simmer.
Heat oil in a large saucepan. Fill dough into a piping bag which has been fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe dough directly into the hot oil in a length you wish and fry until golden brown about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on a paper towel.
Mix the cinnamon and sugar together. Drop the fried churros into the sugar mix. Repeat with remaining dough
Serve with the chocolate dipping sauce.
