Corn is always a favourite item for kids, Sarthika likes this dish very much. Whenever I make this I have to put the corn pieces counting the family members and for my daughter one extra!

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 7-8 corn pieces, broken into 4 inch length
  2. 1 medium sized onion big cubes
  3. 1 big sized tomato big cubes
  4. 1 green chilli
  5. 1/2 inch ginger piece
  6. 1 big garlic clove
  7. salt to taste
  8. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  10. 1 tsp dhania powder
  11. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder (optional)
  12. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  13. 2 tsp oil
  14. Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing


  1. Heat 1 tsp oil and put in all the onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and green chilli.
  2. Stir for 2 mins, then let it cool down. Once cooled, make a smooth paste of this mixture.
  3. Heat 1 tsp of oil and add cumin seeds. When it starts to splutter add the paste with a little water.
  4. Stir as the oil separates from the paste, meanwhile add all the spices.
  5. Now add in the corn pieces with a little water in the pressure cooker. Let it cook till 2 whistles blow, then remove the lid.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it with rice.
