ABOUT Chicken Pulao RECIPE

Quick and easy one pot chicken pulao that is mildly spiced and makes a delicious and filling lunch with just a cup of raita.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup Basmati rice
  2. 300 - 350 gms chicken
  3. 1 Big potato
  4. 1 onion (Sliced)
  5. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  6. 1 big tomato (sliced)
  7. handful of chopped mint and coriander
  8. 3 - 4 Green chillis
  9. 2 - 3 tbsp oil
  10. 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  11. 3 Green cardamom
  12. 1 black cardamom
  13. 3-4 cloves
  14. 1 Cinnamom stick
  15. 1 bay leaf


  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, and once hot add all the whole spices and fennel seeds. After a minute add Ginger Garlic paste and the sliced onions and saute till onions becomes soft and translucent.
  2. Throw in the potato chunks and sliced green chillis and saute them as well.
  3. Add washed chicken pieces and saute everything together till the chicken becomes white and opaque.
  4. Then add the sliced tomatoes , mint and coriander and give a mix. Add little turmeric powder and garam masala and salt as needed. Pour 2 cups water and let it come to a boil.
  5. Add rice, give a mix, close and cook for 1 whistle only (as basmati rice cooks really fast).
  6. Let the pressure release on its own. Open the lid and fluff gently with a fork. Squeeze lemon juice and serve hot.

I tried ur recipe with grinding the fennel seeds green chillies clove n ginger n garlic.. It's become yummy
