ABOUT Quick Chicken Curry RECIPE

AS the name goes, this is a very quick and easy chicken curry made in pressure cooker resulting in a succulent chicken falling off the bones.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 350 gms chicken (with bone or boneless)
  2. 2 medium potatoes
  3. 2 medium onions (finely chopped)
  4. 3 medium tomatoes
  5. 3 Garlic cloves
  6. 1 piece of ginger
  7. 2 green chillis
  8. 3 tbsp oil
  9. 1 tsp Fennel Seeds (Saunf)
  10. 4 cloves
  11. salt as needed
  12. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1 1/2 tbs Red chilli Powder (I used mild kashmiri red chilli powder)
  14. 1 tbsp coriander powder
  15. 1/2 tbsp Cumin Powder
  16. 1/2 tsp Garam masala (optional)
  17. Coriander to Garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash chicken well, wash and peel potatoes and cube them. Blend the tomatoes, chillis, ginger and garlic to a fine puree.
  2. In a pressure cooker, heat oil, and add fennel seeds and cloves. Then after few seconds add finely chopped onions and saute them till they are slightly brown.
  3. Then add the chicken and potatoes and saute them till they turn white from pink. Add in the tomato puree to the chicken.
  4. Add salt and all the spice powders and mix well. Pour a cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles. Let the steam release on own and then open the cooker.
  5. If its too watery then allow it to sit on stove top for 4 - 5 minutes until it reaches the consistency you like.
