ABOUT Mutton Curry RECIPE

The authentic Bengali mutton curry.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Mutton 1/2 kg
  2. 3 potatoes cut in half
  3. 1 tsp cumin coriander powder
  4. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  6. 2 onion sliced
  7. 1 onion paste
  8. 1 tomato chopped
  9. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  10. 3 cardamom
  11. 3-4 cloves
  12. 2 sticks of cinnamon
  13. 2 bay leaf
  14. salt 1 tsp
  15. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  16. 6-7 tsp of mustard oil for marination
  17. 5-6 spoon of mustard oil for cooking
  18. 1 and 1/2 cup of water

Instructions

  1. Marinate wash mutton with all the powder and paste along with mustard oil.
  2. In a cooker heat oil, temper cinnamon, cardamom and cloves then fry sliced onion in the same oil till soft.
  3. Now add the marinated mutton and cook till the masalas leaves oil.
  4. Add water and close the lid.
  5. Let it give 4-5 whistle and come down to normal temperature
  6. Open the lid and serve hot
