The authentic Bengali mutton curry.

Mutton Curry

Ingredients to make Mutton Curry

  • Mutton 1/2 kg
  • 3 potatoes cut in half
  • 1 tsp cumin coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 onion sliced
  • 1 onion paste
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 3 cardamom
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • 2 bay leaf
  • salt 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 6-7 tsp of mustard oil for marination
  • 5-6 spoon of mustard oil for cooking
  • 1 and 1/2 cup of water

How to make Mutton Curry

  1. Marinate wash mutton with all the powder and paste along with mustard oil.
  2. In a cooker heat oil, temper cinnamon, cardamom and cloves then fry sliced onion in the same oil till soft.
  3. Now add the marinated mutton and cook till the masalas leaves oil.
  4. Add water and close the lid.
  5. Let it give 4-5 whistle and come down to normal temperature
  6. Open the lid and serve hot

My Tip:

You can add a tsp of ghee over it while serving hot.
