  • Rava 1 cup
  • Channa dal 1 tsp
  • Moong dal 1 tsp
  • jeera 1 tsp
  • hing
  • salt
  • For Tadka
  • oil
  • mustard
  • cashews
  • curry leaves
  • green chillies 2
  • Mormozhakai 3 optional
  • For Chutney
  • coconut 1/2 cup
  • hing
  • salt
  • tamarind
  • For Tadka
  • oil
  • 1 tbsp channa dal
  • 1 tbsp urad dal

How to make Steam cooked Rava Upma ( Healthy)

  1. ADD OIL IN TADKA PAN. ADD MUSTARD. WHEN IT CRACKS ADD CASHEWS
  2. ADD FINELY CHOPPED GREEN CHILLI AND CURRY LEAVES
  3. IN A KADAI, ADD 1 TSP JEERA, MOONG DAL AND CHANNA DAL
  4. DRY ROAST THEM
  5. ADD 1 CUP SOOJI RAVA
  6. DRY ROAST THEM TILL THE COLOR CHANGES TO LITE BROWN
  7. ADD TADKA TO RAVA
  8. ADD 1 TSP SALT AND 1/4 TSP HING
  9. ADD 4 FRIED MOREMOLAGAI (OPTIONAL)
  10. ADD 1 CUP WATER AND MIX. TURN OFF THE FLAME
  11. USE WET HANDS TO MAKE DUMPLINGS
  12. RAVA SHOULDN'T STICK TO YOUR HANDS
  13. STEAM COOK DUMPLINGS FOR 10-15 MINUTES
  14. RAVA UPMA PIDIKOLUKATTAI READY
  15. IN A TADKA PAN, ADD OIL. SAUTE 1 TBSP URAD, CHANNA DAL AND 3 RED CHILLIES
  16. ADD 1/2 CUP COCONUT TO BLENDER, 1/4 TSP HING, REQUIRED SALT, TAMARIND SMALL PIECE AND TADKA
  17. GRIND TO SMOOTH PASTE. CHUTNEY READY TO SERVE
