Ingredients to make Double Ka Meetha

  • Bread 4 slices
  • For Rabdi: Milk 2-3 cups
  • Condensed Milk 3-4 tbs
  • 3 Tbs. sugar
  • Cardamon, Cardamon Powder
  • paneer
  • saffron
  • Almon
  • For making sugar Syrup: 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 Green cardamom
  • For Fry: ghee for frying bread
  • lemon Juice 1/4 tsp.

How to make Double Ka Meetha

  1. Mix milk, Sweet condensed milk, Sugar and Saffron strands in a thick bottomed pan and bring it to a boil over medium flame.
  2. When it starts boiling, reduce flame to low and boil mixture turns thick and reduces to around 1 cups, for around 15-20 minutes. Stir continuously to prevent sticking.
  3. Add grated paneer and Cardamom powder and mix well.
  4. Turn off flame and let rabadi cool at room temperature.
  5. Remove sides of bread slices and cut into 4 equal squares and fry bread golden brown.
  6. Making Sugar syrup: Mix Sugar and water in a pan.
  7. you can begin with the sugar syrup when you start to toast bread slices.
  8. keep the sugar syrup on low heat.
  9. Cook till get a one thread consistency in the sugar syrup.
  10. Switch off the flame, add cardamom and 1/4 tsp. lemon juice.
  11. Making Shahi Tukda / Double Ka Meetha: Now dip bread slice in the sugar syrup, coat the bread slices evenly with Sugar Syrup.
  12. Arrange soaked bread slices on the plate.
  13. Pour the rabadi on the sugar syrup coated bread slices.
  14. Garnish with almonds and serve.

My Tip:

Adding a few drops of lemon juice in boiling sugar solution will prevent it from crystallizing
