About Beetroot rice Recipe

Beetroot rice is easy and healthy food.

Beetroot rice

Ingredients to make Beetroot rice

  • rice - 1 cup
  • Grating beetroot - 1 number
  • water - required
  • For masala- dry paste
  • cinnamon - 1 inch
  • cloves- 2 number
  • cardamom - 2 number
  • fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • cumin - half tsp
  • pepper - half tsp
  • ginger - 1 inch
  • Garlic - 6 cloves
  • Remaining ingredients:
  • oil - 2 tbsp
  • ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Chopped onion - 1 number
  • red chilli - 3 number
  • curry leaves - 10 number
  • peas - ouater cup
  • salt - required
  • coriander leaves - 1 tbsp

How to make Beetroot rice

  1. Soak rice in water 20 minutes.
  2. In a mixer jar add masala things grind in dry paste.
  3. Heat a pressure cooker,Add oil and ghee.
  4. Add chopped coriander leaves,onion,redchili, Curry leaves and saute till the onion's are nicely browned.
  5. Add masala paste and add beetroot, Peas and fry for 3 minutes.
  6. Add drained rice and combine well for a minute.
  7. Add water and salt.
  8. Close the cooker with its lid. Place the whistle on it and cook till 1 whistle.
  9. Remove the cooker from the heat. let the pressure subside open the lid.
  10. Fluff the rice with a fork. This can be served as a main dish with raitha or potato masala fry.

My Tip:

Do not over cook. The rice will turn mashly.
