ABOUT Aloo Matar (Potato n peas in tomato gravy) RECIPE

Its a delicious gravy dish specially made during winters as we get fresh sweet peas.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 8 medium - potatoes peeled
  2. N cut in chunks.
  3. 1 cup - peas
  4. 2 large - onions minced
  5. 4 medium - tomatoes pureed
  6. 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  7. 2 no. - green chillies minced
  8. 1 tsp - tomato puree kissan
  9. 1 tsp - jeera whole
  10. 1 no. - bayleaf
  11. 1 big - cardamom
  12. 1 .5 tbsp - coriander powder
  13. 1/2 tsp- turmeric powder
  14. 1/2 tsp - Red chilly powder
  15. 1 tsp - garam masala
  16. 1/2 tsp - jeera powder
  17. Salt to taste
  18. 2 tbsp - Refined oil
  19. 1 tbsp - fresh coriander leaves
  20. Chopped..
  21. Water as required

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker
  2. Add jeera whole, cardamom,
  3. Bayleaf n minced onions..
  4. Saute till pinkish in color..
  5. Saute for 2 minutes..
  6. Now add the tomato puree..
  7. Mix well.. add all the spices n
  8. Salt..
  9. Saute till the sides leave oil..
  10. Now add the potatoes n peas.
  11. Mix gently.. Saute for 5 min..
  12. Now add the water ..
  13. Check spices n salt n adjust...
  14. Close the pressure cooker n
  15. cook for 1 whistle only..
  16. Let the steam get released..
  17. Serve in serving bowl.
  18. Garnish with fresh coriander
  19. leaves...
  20. Serve hot with Phulkas ,Rice
  21. Or Paranthas...
