I think thandai is a drink which is loved by everyone,I too love thandai I always make thandai in authentic way that is soaking of all ingredients and grinding to paste then passing that paste through muslin cloth three to four times adding gulkand to thandai gives a nice flavour and its healthy too I personally love the taste of gulkand here I have added nestle milkmaid instead of sugar which gives more fine taste to thandai so lets make gulkand thandai

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 100 gms of almond
  2. 10-12peppercorns whole
  3. 25 gms of melon seeds
  4. 20 gms of fennel seeds
  5. 2tbsp of gulkand
  6. 20 gms of poppy seeds
  7. 100 gms of milkmaid
  8. 25 gms of pistachio
  9. 5-6 whole cardmom
  10. few strands of saffron for garnish
  11. few rose petals for garnish
  12. 1litre of milk
  13. 1glass of warm water


  1. soak almond in warm water
  2. add pistachio,cardmom,fennel seeds
  3. add pepper corns,poppy seeds
  4. add melon seeds
  5. soak these for 4 hours
  6. after 4 hrs remove water by seiver
  7. add half glass of fresh water
  8. grind it into fine paste
  9. pass this paste through muslin cloth
  10. give pressure of your fingers and palm
  11. now open the cloth and remove the paste
  12. grind this paste again with adding milk
  13. add gulkand and grind again
  14. pass this through muslin cloth again
  15. you can repeat this process one more time
  16. now add milkmaid to seived thandai
  17. blend with help of blender once
  18. chill for half an hour
  19. pour in glasses and sprinkle saffron
  20. top with rose petals and serve chilled
