ABOUT Gaajar Halwa Laddus...... RECIPE

An innovative twist by me to the quintessentially Indian halwa made with carrots. These laddus are easy to make and tastes just divine. A super awesome dessert idea for any festive occasion or a party. Iam at loss of words to explain about this yummy little goodies. They look not only gorgeous but tastes equally delish. Try these for your loved ones and guests this festive season and enjoy the different colours of life that lit up our hearts. Happy Festival of Colours !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Carrots shredded 1 1/2 kg
  2. Milkmaid 1 cup
  3. Fresh cream 3 tbsp
  4. Mixed dry fruits slivered 1/2 cup (Almonds and Cashews)
  5. full fat milk 1 litre
  6. ghee 1/2 cup
  7. cardamom powder 1 tsp
  8. Mawa 1/4th cup

Instructions

  1. Add shredded carrots to a deep cooking pot along with the milk.
  2. Simmer it on a low flame for the first 10 minutes.
  3. Then increase the flame to medium high and continue cooking until the next 25 minutes.
  4. Keep stirring in between at regular intervals.
  5. After about 25 minutes of cooking, add condensed milk and cardamom powder.
  6. Stir in fresh cream and the dry fruits too.
  7. Saute it on a high heat with a continuous stirring after adding ghee.
  8. It becomes thick and ghee starts leaving the sides of the pot in a few more minutes.
  9. The aroma is also heavenly at this point of time.
  10. Add homemade mawa just before switching off the gas.
  11. Wait a bit until you can handle the heat and start shaping into medium sized laddus.
  12. Serve them right away or chill them in the refrigerator for an hour or two.
  13. Yummy delectable goodies made from gaajar halwa are ready to be 'DEVOURED'.
