ABOUT Peanut and roasted gram chutney RECIPE

A South Indian style chutney made from peanuts and roasted gram.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 100 gms/8 tbsp roasted peanuts
  2. 30 gms/4 tbsp roasted gram
  3. 3-4 green chillies
  4. 3 inch piece tamarind
  5. Few strand of coriander leaves
  6. For tempering:
  7. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  8. 1/4 cumin seeds
  9. 2 tbsp oil
  10. Few curry leaves

Instructions

  1. To the smallest jar of the blender or mixer add all the ingredients and grind it.
  2. Do not add water and blend it to a powder. Now add a little water and grind it to a paste.
  3. Transfer to a serving bowl and add water according to the desired consistency.
  4. To a tadka pan, add oil, when it starts smoking add in mustard seeds, followed by cumin, as it splutters add curry leaves.
  5. Pour it over the chutney .
  6. Serve it with idly or dosa.
