Palak Paneer

Ingredients to make Palak Paneer

  • 1 kg spinach
  • a bunch of fenugreek leaves
  • 200gm paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1tsp ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 3-4 slit green chillies
  • 1tsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2tbsp cooking oil
  • water

How to make Palak Paneer

  1. Cut the paneer into small cubes. Heat oil to smoking in a wok, add the paneer slices and fry them till they turn pale brownish in colour. Keep it aside.
  2. Grind together chilli powder, ginger and garlic and keep aside. Fry the spices and whole green chillies.
  3. Add washed and chopped spinach and fenugreek leaves into the wok and saute. Add water if necessary.
  4. Cover and cook on a slow fire till spinach and fenugreek leaves are cooked and mash them
  5. Add the paneer cubes and the spices. Bring it to boil and remove.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped coriander.
