ABOUT CHILLI CHICKEN WITH VEGETABLES ZERO OIL RECIPE

This dish is for someone who is conscious about using no oil in their food. This dish is a unique blend of good protein, fiber, minerals and taste. Chicken is a rich source of protein and is low on fat (you could opt for chicken with skin too.). The variety of vegetables used here are rich sources of carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins and essential minerals. The red chilli sauce adds its tangy taste to fire your taste buds. This dish is a standalone food for people dieting as it is a wholesome meal on its own. To top it all, it is a low calorie food and great for a cold winter night. Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken 300 gms
  2. Soy sauce 1 tbsp
  3. Pepper powder 1 tsp
  4. FOR THE SPICY SAUCE :
  5. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  6. Red chilly sauce 1½ tsp
  7. Soy sauce 2 tsp
  8. Red chilli flakes 2 tsp
  9. Salt 1 tsp
  10. Water 2 tbsp
  11. VEGETABLES :
  12. Cabbage 100 gms
  13. Onions sliced 3 medium size
  14. Capsicum sliced 3
  15. Broad beans cut 5
  16. Carrot sliced 2
  17. Potatoes cubes 2
  18. Green chillies chopped 4
  19. Sweet corn kernels ½ cup
  20. Green peas ½ cup
  21. Sorrel leaves 25 leaves

Instructions

  1. Marinate 300 gms chicken with 1 tablespoon of soya sauce, 1 teaspoon pepper powder for 10 minutes.
  2. In the meanwhile prepare the spicy sauce by grinding together 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1 ½ teaspoon red chilli sauce, 2 teaspoons soya sauce, 2 teaspoons red chilli flakes, salt 1 teaspoon and 2 teaspoons water.
  3. In a flat bottom sauce pan, add sliced cabbage, onions, capsicum, broad beans, carrots, potatoes, green chillies, sweet corn kernels, green peas for the base.
  4. Spread the vegetables evenly towards the edges of the pan while leaving some space in the middle with sorrel leaves to create a base for the marinated chicken.
  5. Place this pan on medium flame and cook covered for 4 minutes. Now, mix the chicken and vegetables well, cover with lid and cook on low flame for 8 minutes.
  6. Stir once after it is eight minutes and cover and cook again for 2 minutes and serve hot as a whole meal on a cold winter night.
